A popular Australian brewery has recalled one of its beers after an undeclared ingredient was discovered in it that could cause an allergic reaction.
Stone & Wood Brewing Co is recalling its Counter Culture Eirinn Irish Cream Stout after it was discovered that a batch of the product failed to warn consumers that it contains milk.
Milk is considered a potential allergen and should be listed on the packaging.
“Any consumer with a milk allergy or intolerance may experience a reaction if the product is consumed,” said Food Standards Australia and New Zealand.
Stone & Wood’s Counter Culture Irish Cream Stout has been recalled
The beer company announced the recall on Thursday
The beer has been sold in store and online at bottle shops and stores in NSW, Victoria (including Paul’s IGA in Ringwood East) and Queensland.
Customers with a milk allergy who have purchased the product with an expiration date of August 16, 2023 are advised not to consume the product.
They can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
