Sticky Fingers frontman Dylan Frost accused of stealing from Woolworths Metro Haymarket

A popular indie rock singer accused of stealing music from a busy supermarket has indicated he will fight the charges.

Dylan Frost, 34, lead singer of Sticky Fingers, pleaded not guilty to one charge of theft when the case was first heard in his absence at Downing Centre Crown Court on Monday.

Court documents show he stole half a roast chicken and an iced coffee from Woolworths Metro in Haymarket in Sydney’s CBD on June 27.

The roast chicken is $6.50 and the Ice Break Double Espresso is $2.65.

Frost’s pregnant girlfriend Elyssa Ford, 23, has also been charged with theft after allegedly stealing a pack of Life Savers Raspberry Stix from the store on the same days.

The couple did not attend the court hearing on Monday, Daily Telegraph reported.

Ford has not yet entered a plea to her theft charge.

The clerk told the court that Frost and Ford had given separate explanations as to why they were unable to attend Monday’s hearing.

Frost is currently participating in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and is believed to be living in Queensland.

The court heard Ford splits her time between New South Wales and Queensland and was unable to attend the hearing because she is pregnant and currently has other health issues.

The clerk accepted Frost’s plea of not guilty and adjourned his case until September 30 so that evidence could be filed.

The clerk’s office adjourned Ford’s case for two weeks and told her to notify the court of her request if she could not appear.

Sticky Fingers formed in Sydney in 2008 as an independent band consisting of Frost and Paddy Cornwall as lead vocalists.

The group quickly rose to fame, releasing three top five albums and winning platinum and gold records from the ARIA.

The band has also been streamed a billion times on Spotify.

Frost and the group have been in the news in recent years, resulting in the band being banned from the annual Bluesfest music festival in 2023.

The controversial move came after Frost was accused of abusive and threatening behaviour.

In 2016, he allegedly assaulted and threatened Australian singer Thelma Plum and her boyfriend outside a pub in Sydney.

Frost allegedly made racist remarks during a performance later that year, but he publicly denied the allegations.
