Stewart Cink plays to the home crowd at the WM Phoenix Open by donning a new Suns Kevin Durant jersey on the famous 16th hole…just HOURS after the star was traded from Brooklyn

Stewart Cink made a great first impression during the Waste Management Phoenix Open playing with the crowd on the famous par-3 16th hole known as ‘The Coliseum.’

Just hours after Kevin Durant was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns, Cink stepped up to make his kick-off by donning a fresh-off-the-press KD jersey.

To the delight of the watching masses, Cink stepped up and hit his tee shot, but left it almost 100 feet short of the cup.

Cink then rolled his ball up two slopes and just cleared the hole, leaving it less than five feet from the pin.

Then he quickly finished his par put, pulling out of the hole while staying one under for the day.

As he walked away, Cink tossed the new threads out into the crowd, into the hands of one of the rowdy, watching customers.

It’s not the first time a golfer has chosen to wear threads from another sport while playing at No. 16

Last year, Max Homa called off a bet he made with fellow golfer JT Poston on the results of baseball’s World Series.

Homa, a Dodgers fan, wore an Atlanta Braves jersey with Poston’s name on the back after Atlanta won the World Series in 2021.

In 2020, several golfers chose to wear jerseys in honor of Kobe Bryant, who had died a few weeks earlier.

Additionally, Jon Rahm has worn the jersey of the late Arizona State and Arizona Cardinals football player Pat Tillman, who died while serving in Afghanistan in 2004.

After sinking his putt for par, Cink tossed the jersey into the noisy crowd of watching fans.
