Still Game star Stevie Allen has died: Co-star Jane McCarry pays tribute to ‘fantastic’ Scottish actor who gave up TV to become a paramedic
Scottish actor Stevie Allen has died.
The star, who starred in the beloved comedy Still Game, died Thursday, according to Sun.
Stevie is best known for playing Manky Frankie on the series, appearing in three episodes from 2002 to 2004.
Still Game also starred names like Ford Kiernan, Paul Riley, and Jane McCarry.
Jane was one of the first to pay tribute, after they met during their first year at King’s Park Secondary School in Glasgow, where he worked as a science technician.

The actress, who played the gossipy Isa Drennan on the show, said: “I used to watch it at the Glasgow Arts Center then. He was a fantastic guy, so genuine and full of fun.

Tom Urie. who appeared on the comedy show in 2003, added: ‘I met Stevie at the start of my career at the Byre Theater in St Andrews. She was a lovely guy and a great actor.
Stevie starred in the first series of Still Game, when series regulars Jack and Victor break down their door after finding a dead neighbor and are greeted with a large amount of clutter strewn across the floor.
He also appeared in a number of other shows, including Taggart and Macbeth.
Still Game ran until 2019, with the ninth and final series being one of the first shows to be shown on BBC Scotland when it was first launched.
The show was nominated for Best Entertainment Program at the Scottish Baftas, and McCarry won Best Actress in 2007.
It was also nominated for Best Comedy Program at the National Television Awards and won Best Television Program at the Scottish Comedy Awards in its final year.

After starring in Still Game, Stevie began working as a paramedic for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
His colleagues took to Facebook to pay tribute, writing: ‘Stevie Allen sadly passed away yesterday.
He was a paramedic with us and it will be a great loss. What a legend of a man.
Another said: ‘He used to come to the pub I worked at a few years ago in Jedburgh. A lovely guy.
