Steven Heavier stabbing: Man accused of murdering paramedic outside McDonald’s in Campbelltown faces further charges

The man charged with the murder of NSW paramedic Steven Tougher has been charged with a series of new offences.

The 29-year-old father-of-two was nearing the end of his shift when he was reportedly stabbed to death in the back of his ambulance during a food break at a McDonald’s in Campbelltown, southwest Sydney, at around 5:30am. on April 14.

Jordan Fineanganofo was charged with murder.

His case remains with the court.

On July 27, Mr Fineanganofo was arrested by police over three incidents alleged to have occurred in the suburbs around Campbelltown – including Blair Athol, Ingleburn and Raby – around April 13 and 14.

They have nothing to do with Mr. Tougher’s murder.

He was taken into custody and charged with common assault, destruction or damage to property, being armed with intent, two counts of intentional wounding and robbery.

He will face the local Campbelltown court on Wednesday.

Tougher had only been in office for about a year before the alleged stabbing.

His colleague pressed the forced alarm and alerted the emergency services.

Tougher was then rushed to Liverpool Hospital in an ambulance before dying.

The 29-year-old father-of-two was reportedly stabbed to death in the back of his ambulance at Campbelltown McDonald’s in Sydney’s southwest at around 5:30am on April 14.

He had married his wife, Madison, five weeks earlier.

She gave birth to their baby girl Lily-Mae Stevie Tougher two months after the incident.

Tougher’s father Jeff posted a tribute to his son shortly after the incident.

“People ask me if I need anything. Well, that’s right. I need your help. I need your vote,” he wrote on Facebook.

“I need your support in an effort to advocate for stronger laws to protect these people who serve the community with such passion and dedication.”
