Steven Hendry Shocks The Masked Singer Panel When They Unmask Him As Trash
Steven Hendry was unmasked as the celebrity behind Rubbish during Saturday night’s The Masked Singer.
The 54-year-old billiards pro landed in the bottom two after receiving the fewest votes along with co-star Jacket Potato.
And after the judges decided to save the latter, Rubbish was unmasked as the Scottish jock before leaving the show.
Pool pro Steven Hendry, 54, shocks The Masked Singer panel when he is unmasked as Trash after being kicked off the show.
He was the first to perform at the show previously, opening with a cover of The Kaiser Chiefs’ hit song Ruby.
And despite Steven leaving a trail of pool cues during the performance and clue clips, many fans were convinced he was a JLS member behind the mask.
But panelist Jonathan Ross had it on the tip of his tongue when he found out he was a pool player, but guessed the wrong one by suggesting Ronnie O’Sullivan.
After being unmasked, Davina asked Steven why he did the show, to which he replied, “I love the show and it’s obviously out of my comfort zone.”
Performance: He was the first to perform at the show previously, opening with a cover of The Kaiser Chiefs’ hit song Ruby.
On Twitter before Rubbish’s identity was revealed, one fan wrote, “I think trash is Oritsé from JLS #TheMaskedSinger,” while another agreed: “Trash is Marvin Humes, has to be #TheMaskedSinger.”
And later, many were surprised to learn that it was Steven, with a share; “He would never have said that Stephen Hendry’s father #maskedsingeruk was surprised and that he is a fan of pool.”
As Steven took to his own Instagram to share the news with his 125K followers, he wrote: ‘I took it off.
“Had so much fun participating in the #MaskedSingerUK Stand by for the Christmas album.”
During the show, panel Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, and Davina McCall returned to the hot judges’ seats to guess who was behind each mask.
And it was ‘clue fest’ night on the show, with each contestant providing a clip full of bonus clues before their performances.
Fawn then took the stage with a rendition of Madonna’s Into The Groove.
Rita said, ‘I love Fawn, it’s just you confuse me more’
While Jonathan assumed that the person behind Fawn was Anne-Marie, before Rita chimed in: ‘No, no way, her voice doesn’t sound like Anne-Marie at all.’
Whoever’s in there is a maniac. In that picnic scene they were putting jam on a bun, that’s criminal!
Fawn made a reference to being in an ‘upside down land’, which the judges interpreted as Australia, comparing the phrase to ‘down’, as Mo, Dannii Minogue guessed.
Davina put Jacqueline Jossa’s name in the ring, noting that she had been in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, which was filmed in Australia.
In the suit: Rita Ora (left) looked stunning in a bright orange ensemble and colorful eyeshadow, while Jonathan Ross (right) looked ready to hop on Top Gun.
A pop of color: Davina McCall (left) opted for goggles and feline eyeliner, while Mo Gilligan (right) added some color in a vibrant blue suit.
Jonathan quipped: ‘Whoever’s in there is a maniac. In that picnic scene they were putting jam on a bun, that’s criminal’
Rhino was next to the stage and gave a collection of hints that he was someone from the US, with references to the Big Apple and a western costume.
With an incredible performance from Pink’s Try, whoever was behind the mask undoubtedly had a strong voice as they showcased their talent.
Many fans were convinced that Rhino is James Arthur, with a voice that sounds extremely similar to the hitmaker’s.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their guesses, as one wrote: “Sorry but I said it in the first line last time and I’ll say it again @JamesArthur23 it’s definitely you #MaskedSingerUK that voice is unmistakable.” If I’m wrong, honestly, the fantastic voice will surprise me, my hair stands on end’.
Cowboy: Rhino was next to the stage and gave a collection of hints that he was someone from the US, with references to the Big Apple and a western costume.
Assumptions: Many fans were convinced that Rhino is James Arthur, with the voice sounding extremely similar to the hitmaker’s.
And Jonathan was on the same wavelength when he shared that Rhino was ‘a real superstar’ and guessed James.
But the judges thought differently, as Mo, rugby player Thom Evans, who is in a relationship with Nicole Sherzinger, who hails from New York, guessed regarding the Big Apple track.
Doubling down on Rhino as one of her favorite voices in the competition, Davina guessed Joe Jonas.
Pigeon then took to the screen in a thick Essex accent, which the panel assumed was fake to throw them off the trail.
After the performance, the star had the judges on edge as she playfully flirted with host Joel with dance moves, along with exaggerated gestures.
‘She’s got to be a comedian of some sort, last time I said Emily Attack, and she’s so funny Emily. I’m Emily Attack,” Davina said.
But Mo was sure it was Gemma Collins, while Jonathan joked around with dance moves that reminded him of Theresa May, before seriously assuming it was Linda Robson.
Then it was the turn of Jacket Potato, who changed the atmosphere by singing Hallelujah.
“Wow, wow, wow, that was amazing, I’ve never heard him sing like that,” Rita began.
As Joel added: ‘Well, I think it would be weird if you heard it that way, with a baked potato singing it.’
“Come on, don’t flatter me the wrong way, Joel,” Rita replies while being on point with her puns.
The singer assumed that the reference to food meant he was a TV chef, suggesting Gino D’Acampo.
When decision time came, Pigeon, Rhino, and Fawn passed, leaving Rubbish and Jacket Potato to sing between the bottom two.
