Steve Smith flips Bronte home for nearly double the $3.5m price tag he paid in 2019
Cricket great Steve Smith has walked away with an eye-watering $2.75 million profit after finally selling his course in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for $6.75 million.
Smith, 34, originally sought more than $7 million for the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Bronte property he has had on the market since October last year.
He bought the original California bungalow in 2019 for $3.505 million and later spent a reported $495,000 on a massive renovation, which included adding a second floor, bathrooms and a fourth bedroom.
Smith canceled two scheduled auctions in hopes of getting his original price before lowering the sales guide to reports of $6.5 million The Daily Telegraph.
Located just 9km from the CBD and just blocks from Bronte Beach, the new design has converted the mid-20th century original into a chic, ultra-modern resort-style home.

Meanwhile, the second floor master bedroom features a private balcony with stunning ocean views.

According to real estate data, Smith’s sales are well above the $5.8 million median value for the neighborhood.
In addition to his achievements as a record-breaking first-class cricket champion, Smith and his wife Dani Willis are known for their interest in real estate.
Last year the couple sold a stunning property in the prestigious Sydney suburb of Vaucluse.
The couple scored a whopping $12.38 million for the four bedrooms and three bathrooms after Smiths carried out a massive renovation.
The sale came after the couple purchased it for $6.5 million in 2020.
