Steve-O cancels plans to get breast implants for comedy sketch after talking to a transgender person: ‘It’s not all fun and games’
Steve-O, known around the world as a man who would do anything to make people laugh, has just pulled off his latest stunt.
The Jackass and Wildboyz star was just hours away from undergoing surgery to get temporary breast implants for a hidden camera sketch he had planned for his upcoming The Super Dummy Tour, according to Variety.
The idea was that Steve-O (born Stephen Gilchrist Glover), 50, would pose as a woman and then mislead groups of men on the street.
“I was out of surgery within 10 hours,” said the man who was once hooked in the mouth and used as shark bait in the Gulf of Mexico. “The surgery was scheduled for 8 a.m.”
It turned out that the anesthesiologist had had enough when he heard it was a stunt and backed out the night before.
Steve-O, 50, has decided to abandon his plan to get breast enlargements and then trick people into thinking he’s a woman after talking to a transgender person; seen in 2023
He added: ‘That started a chain reaction: the doctor didn’t want to be associated with it anymore and had a hard time finding another surgery center where they could do it.’
At that point, the comedian was still focused on the stunt, until he encountered a transgender person in the supermarket the next day.
While shopping, he told him about his grand plan to get breast enlargement surgery, just to see if the salesperson would be okay with it.
One of his ideas was that Steve-O would get implants, shave his body hair, and then remove his tattoos so he could go to a biker rally and flirt with men. When he took off his helmet, it turned out he was actually a man.
“I knew what my motivation was, I knew what my intention was, and it wasn’t to hurt anybody,” Steve-O said. “I was just trying to make people laugh.”
Although a number of transgender people came out to him to show their support for the stunt, the stunt actor and TV personality admitted the reaction “would have been a mixed bag.”
The grocery store clerk believed that Steve-O was deliberately trying to trick people into thinking he was a woman and then fooling them, which “sort of” reflected the idea of hatred towards [trans people] — that was a [bad] thing.’
The clerk then went on to paint a picture of a scenario that transgender people face when they go to the bathroom at work, and “that there may be 28 states in the country that would arrest them if they had an ID that said ‘female.’ That there were politicians making concerted efforts to put them in internment camps. It was really heartbreaking, the level of oppression that was being described.”
One of his ideas was for Steve-O to get the implants, shave his body hair, and then remove his tattoos so he could go to a motorcycle rally and flirt with men, only to take off his helmet and reveal that he is actually a man.
The comedian revealed he changed his mind after speaking to a transgender person about his stunt and how it could lead to more hate towards the community

When Steve-O heard stories like this, he decided to stop the stunt and get breast augmentation.
“I’ve been thinking about it in a way that I haven’t thought about it before, like, wow, maybe it’s not all fun and games. Especially the jokes,” he admitted.
