Steve Bannon is ‘proud to fight tyranny’ and to go to prison as the Trump ally reports for four-month sentence after defying a January 6 congressional subpoena

Steve Bannon said he is “proud to go to prison” outside the maximum-security federal prison in Connecticut where he will serve his four-month sentence.

The former Trump adviser told his supporters: I’m proud to go to prison – if this is what it takes to stand up to tyranny.’

“If this is what it takes to take on Garland’s corrupt, criminal DOJ. If this is what it takes to take on Nancy Pelosi. If this is what it takes to take on Joe Biden, then I’m proud to do it.”

Bannon will serve a relatively short sentence after a tough battle to avoid prison for defying a congressional subpoena to appear before the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Bannon will be held in a low-security federal lockup with a satellite camp and a bakery.

Ghislaine Maxwell was trying to serve her 20-year prison sentence there after she was convicted of helping Jeffrey Epstein traffic underage girls.

Podcaster Ian Bick, who spent time there for fraud, called the facility “comfortable,” corrections1 reported.

“When you’re in a camp, it’s not really a prison,” he said, pointing to the food in the prison cafeteria and bakery. “Danbury is known as a nice place because there aren’t a lot of inmates,” he added.

Among those who have put in time are singer Lauryn Hill and Leona Helmsley, after she was convicted of tax fraud.
