Steve Bannon calls DeSantis a ‘weasel’ for his ‘porn star’ dig at Trump
Former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon attacked Ron DeSantis Monday for a “weasel approach” after the Florida governor included two references to a porn star buyout in his comments about a looming possible indictment against Donald Trump.
Bannon warned DeSantis on his “War Room Pandemic” podcast after Trump’s own message about his impending arrest prompted a bevy of Republicans to defend him and blast Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for plotting a partisan prosecution.
“Governor DeSantis, you’re better than this,” Bannon said, addressing the would-be presidential candidate during the broadcast.
“That was a weasel approach. And don’t throw in the porn star thing. I don’t need to hear it from you, okay? You don’t need to hear it, okay?’ he said, taking over a page from Trump, who himself intruded on his rival.
“Governor DeSantis, you’re better than this,” Steve Bannon, former Trump White House chief strategist, said after the Florida governor raised the issue of silenced payments and condemned the prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
Then Bannon turned to My Pillow exec Mike Lindell for the “Election Crime Bureau report,” sparking yet another furious broadside.
Lindell again called DeSantis the “Trojan horse we thought he was” by the GOP.
“I just want to say that, how disgusting he is,” he added.
“If they arrest our great President Donald Trump, he will win hands down,” Lindell predicted.
Their comments came after DeSantis attacked GOP rival Trump’s investigation on Monday after a two-day delay. The Manhattan District Attorney is investigating the $130,000 silent payment to Stormy Daniels. Trump reimbursed former fixer Michael Cohen for the payments.

DeSantis said he didn’t know “what’s involved in paying hush money to a porn star to ensure silence about some alleged affair”
Trump has repeatedly denied having a sexual affair with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford
DeSantis said he didn’t know “what’s involved in paying hush money to a porn star to keep quiet about some alleged affair,” and then accused Bragg of ignoring New York’s rising crime rate.
At the same time, he repeated part of Trump’s own attack, calling Bragg a “Soros-funded accuser” — a reference to a $1 million donation the billionaire gave to a Color of Change during Bragg’s 2021 election.
“What I can say is that if you have a prosecutor ignoring crimes that happen every day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago and try to use something about porn star hush money payments, DeSantis said, raising the matter a second time.
“You know, that’s an example of pursuing a political agenda and arming the office,” he added.
The mention of a porn star did not go unnoticed by Trump, who has repeatedly denied having a sexual affair and blasted a ‘Stormy’ Horse Face’ Daniels extortion plot in response to threatening accusations and in a Monday night video.
“They’re not coming after me – they’re coming after you. I’m just in their way. And I will always stand in their way,” Trump said.
The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., slammed DeSantis in a tweet for calling the event a “manufactured crisis.”
“So DeSantis thinks Dems arming the law to indict President Trump is a ‘manufactured circus’ and not a ‘real problem,'” he wrote.
‘Sheer weakness. Now we know why he was silent all weekend. It is wholly owned by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan and his billionaire donors. 100% controlled opposition,” he wrote, referring to the former George W. Bush strategist and former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The former president himself went after DeSantis on Monday with a statement suggesting without evidence that DeSantis could one day face unfair accusations from a man.
“Ron DeSanctimonious will likely find out about FALSE ALLEGATIONS & FALSE STORY sometime in the future, as he gets older, wiser and better known, when he is unfairly and illegally assaulted by a woman, even classmates who are ‘underage’ (or possibly a man !),” Trump wrote.
“I’m sure he wants to fight these misfits just like me!” Trump added on his Truth Social platform.
