Lisa Scott-Lee took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal that she had donated £2,000 to save the church featured in Steps’ famous Tragedy video.
All Saints Church in Harrow was desperate for donations for immediate repairs, 24 years after its brush with fame.
And pop star Lisa, 47, has such “wonderful memories” of filming there in 1998 that she donated the full amount requested, surpassing her fundraising goal.
A kind gesture: Lisa Scott-Lee, 47, took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal that she had donated £2,000 to save the church featured in the famous Steps Tragedy video.
On Twitter, the singer shared a video from reporter Nick Fox who hoped to raise the profile of the Church as they struggled for funding.
She wrote: “Done, thank you @ashwcampus for being such a beautiful backdrop for our @OfficialSteps Tragedy video, and for the wonderful memories I will treasure forever.”
The famous video, and its accompanying dance routine, saw Lisa and her bandmates Faye Tozer and Claire Richards walk down the aisle towards different men.
Only for Ian ‘H’ Watkins and Lee Latchford-Evans to barge in and save them from making a mistake, racing together.

The dance routine, featuring the band’s version of BeeGee’s 1979 hit, had the group throwing their hands to their heads in mock surprise and became a staple in nightclubs across the country.
Fans took to Twitter in droves to congratulate the pop star on her kind gesture, writing: ‘You singlehandedly solved a fundraiser, what a treat! Smooth Santa Claus – Lee’.
While another added: ‘Fair play to you Lisa what an icon’ and another said: ‘What an amazing gesture you are so kind of!’

A fifth wrote: “Just saw your wonderful donation, Merry Christmas.”

MailOnline has contacted Lisa’s representatives for further comment.
It comes after bandmate Claire previously admitted that the group “could” do Eurovision and that it would be an “amazing” experience, but would also be concerned about coming in last place.

She told BANG Showbiz: ‘I’m always the one to say ‘No, absolutely not!’ but then I see it and I think we could do it.
