Ayesha Curry lost 35 pounds in 2020 and is now working hard to build more muscle and ‘feel strong’ in her skin in 2023.

The 33-year-old actress, who is married to professional basketball player Stephen Curry, opened up about her New Year’s resolutions with people magazine.

The influencer began by saying that she’s more of a ‘monthly resolution girl’ and it’s easier to keep track of her small earnings that way.

The chef and cookbook author has been on a health journey for three years, and now that she’s lost the weight, she wants definition in her body.

‘One of my big resolutions for January will be to build some lean muscle. I’ve lost 35 pounds in the past year, which I’m really excited about, but now I want that definition and I want to feel strong in my skin.’

The beauty also shared with People that she has to remind herself not to compare her physical success to others, especially her NBA superstar husband Stephen Curry.

The couple met when they attended the same church as teenagers. Their relationship only became romantic once they reconnected years later in 2008.

Getting Started: The beauty has been on her fitness journey for three years now, and she wants to start feeling good in her skin.

Focused: The 33-year-old shared that one of her goals for 2023 is to build more lean muscle

They married in June 2011 and had their first child, 10-year-old Riley, the following year. The couple then welcomed two more children, Ryan, seven, and Canon, four.

Ayesha admitted to People that she’s learned not to be competitive on her health and fitness journey and to remain happy with the progress she’s already made, especially since she’s had three children in the past 10 years.

She said: ‘I’m married to a high performance athlete who does it all. And I think I had to be honest with myself and realize that I can’t do that and I don’t have to to see the results that I want to see.

‘I had a kind of internal competition that didn’t exist. And so I was almost always beaten at whatever I was doing because I couldn’t do it at that level. I think I had to take a second, take a deep breath, and just realize, do what you can, and that’s enough.

Going easy on yourself: The mother of three opened up about not comparing her physical successes to those of her husband Stephen Curry, who is a professional basketball player in the NBA

Stephen is the point guard for the Golden State Warriors and is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time and the greatest shooter in NBA history.

As part of her New Years goal, Ayesha teamed up with MyFitnessPal and is participating in their two-week Jumpstart Your Health Challenge. The app is a nutrition and fitness app that helps its users to track meals, learn habits, and achieve goals.

“When the new year rolls around every year, everyone is going all out, balls against the wall and wanting to do their best, and you almost always end up failing.

‘And so, with this Jumpstart Your Health challenge, it just makes it easy. It’s not overwhelming; It is accessible.

After spending time making changes, the beauty realized that high-intensity workouts don’t work for her.

“So for me, taking a walk and being in nature, or going for a run, or exercising for 20 minutes instead of an hour actually works better for me. And I started to see more results. Pilates, yoga and walking, those are the things where I saw the most changes.”

Ayesha shared her thoughts on being kind to herself during her fitness journey and encouraged others to do the same when trying to reach their goals for the new year.

She said: ‘You might have a day where you don’t feel right and it doesn’t work out, and that’s okay. But know that any step, big or small, is a step in the right direction.’

Pretty in pink: The bombshell learned that high-intensity workouts are not for her and that going for a walk or jog helped her lose weight faster.
