Stephen Curry’s hosting career is set to expand after he was announced as the host of Channel Seven’s upcoming competitive ballooning series Blow Up.

The 46-year-old comedian will present the hilarious, nail-biting reality show where Australia’s most talented balloonists flaunt their works of art.

The Thor: Love and Thunder star told the Herald SunĀ that it was a ‘bonkers adventure’ he was thrilled to be a part of.

‘Rest assured, this is not “balloon animals and pirate swords” – this is full scale, high-art balloon sculpture,’ he said.

Curry added he was honoured to be working for Channel Seven and had some interesting ideas about how he would spend his time on set.

‘If I find Larry Emdurā€™s dressing room, I plan to steal his curling wand and sell it at an inflated price,’ he quipped.

The Astra Award winner shot to fame in 1997 playing Dale Kerrigan in the classic Australian comedy The Castle.

He made headlines in 2020 after getting embroiledĀ in a bitter battle with development giants over his family farm.

Stephen fought to save his property in western Victoria from 85-metre-tall powerlines.

‘I think if The Castle taught us anything it is standing up for ourselves but it is a one-sided battle… that doesn’t mean it’s a battle that’s not worth waging,’ he told A Current Affair.

Curry said the farm ‘means everything’ to him and has been in the family since 1962.

Blow Up will commence filming in Melbourne in September.Ā
