ESPN’s Stephen A Smith opened Monday’s episode of the show “First Take” by obnoxiously trolling Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Prescott and the Cowboys found themselves on the wrong end of a huge upset after suffering a 28-16n loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Smith’s debut for the episode included a clip of him throwing out the first pitch during a New York Yankees game and when the ball fell drastically short of home plate.
While talking about the clip, Smith said, “You know, I know, that pitch there made me look bad. I know it wasn’t a shining moment. ‘I know I didn’t live up to expectations. But I will remind the American public and the world, “I’m not a professional ball thrower. This guy is.”
Smith then laughed as he pointed at the camera with both hands before a photo of Prescott appeared on the screen.

Prescott completed 25 of 40 passes for 249 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
The interception came with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter and would ultimately seal the Cowboys’ fate.
The losses dent an encouraging start to the season for the Cowboys. They defeated the Giants 40-0 in New York and started the season with a brutal performance.
They then defeated the other team in New York – the Jets – who were, of course, without Aaron Rodgers. The Cowboys won that game 30-10.
This also isn’t the first time in recent days that Smith and ‘First Take’ have been the center of attention when it comes to the Cowboys.
ESPN’s Bart Scott was recently criticized both on air and on social media after an ill-timed joke about Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs suffering a season-ending torn ACL.
“This is a big, big blow to Dallas and just like Stephen. A always says, “Just wait, something bad always happens,” Scott said, referring to Smith’s cynicism about the Cowboys in previous seasons.
But Scott’s attempt to cleverly end his comments backfired immediately, with both Smith and Ryan Clark shooting him down.
“No, don’t start that, don’t start that,” Clark shouted, before Stephen A. intervened.

“First of all, let me tell you, in all seriousness, I wouldn’t do that right now,” Smith said in a somber tone.
“This is a season-ending injury, I’m certainly not going to joke about that with Trevon Diggs, my brother.”
Diggs was injured during practice with the Cowboys on Thursday, a day after his 25th birthday, and the injury is a huge blow for Dallas.
