Stephen A. Smith taunts Cowboys fans with hilarious new song after Dallas’ latest playoff heartbreak… as ESPN host slams QB Dak Prescott and insists Mike McCarthy has to go

Stephen A. Smith poked fun at the Cowboys with a hilarious mash-up to mark Dallas’ final playoff loss.

The Cowboys suffered more postseason heartache on Sunday, losing 48-32 to the Green Bay Packers at AT&T Stadium.

The result has increased the pressure on both head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott, who have combined to lose three of their four playoff games.

There were high expectations for this Dallas team, which finished the regular season with 12 wins and dreamed of a first Super Bowl appearance since 1995.

“You fell for it, didn’t you?” Smith rejoiced on Monday’s edition of ‘First Take’. “You guys actually thought you were all going to win some playoff games.

“You actually thought this would be the first time you were in the NFC Championship game in about 30 years. But we warned them. We’ve been warning them all season.”

Smith, wearing a Packers hat and a grin, then introduced a new song on the ESPN show. It was a mix of his criticism of Dallas and snippets from the team’s loss. The chorus was, “Somehow they’ll let you down.”

Smith later called for McCarthy to go and the host also punched quarterback Prescott, who defended the head coach after the game.

“There comes a time when Dak Prescott has to shut up,” Smith said. ‘A standard? What would you know about the standard? You have not lived up to the standard that was once set – decades before you –.”

He then referenced the Cowboys’ glory years in the 1990s and 1970s, when they reached eight Super Bowls and won five championships.

“We all know Dak Prescott is an incredible role model, a really good guy… he is the personification of class,” Smith continued.

“But have you noticed that most analysts have gotten to the point where we preface everything we say about him by bringing that up. The time has come to stop all this. We’re talking about football, we’re not talking about anything else… we’re talking about the fact that you plummet in the month of January.

“You have a winning record every month except January. That’s not an accident. So we don’t care if Dak Prescott supports Mike McCarthy. If we care at all, it should be for the opposite reason: rather, the fact that Dak Prescott supported him is a reason why he should be gone. Because he can’t seem to get more out of Dak.

The ESPN host added, “Mike McCarthy, let’s be clear: He has to go. And I’m going to tell you why: It’s not just about the twelve wins during the regular season, but about the bed-wetting in the postseason.

“It’s about the fact that Jerry Jones is 81 years old, it’s about the fact that when we look at the Dallas Cowboys personnel, we expect things to get better after the season.”

The Cowboys had won 16 straight home games before Sunday’s blowout.

“They were ill-prepared for a playoff game,” Smith said. “And it’s not about them being incompetent, it’s about having guys that are available right now — (Michigan coach Jim) Harbaugh, (Bill) Belichick — where you know something like that wouldn’t happen.”
