Stephen A. Smith Made a Cringe Comment About Taylor Swift ‘Motivating’ Travis Kelce ESPNs “First Take” on Tuesday, forcing show co-host Molly Qerim to tell him his tone is “unnecessary.”
Panelists, who also included Dan Orlovsky and Shannon Sharpe, went back and forth on whether Swift deserves a mention for her boyfriend’s rejuvenation on the court lately, especially when she watches him play in person.
After Qerim suggested that “Taylor motivates him,” Smith couldn’t agree more.
“I’m pretty sure she is. Let’s get that out of the way,” he said provocatively.
“The voice is not necessary,” Qerim replied.

“Do I need a towel again?” Orlovsky then asked.
‘We don’t need a towel. I’m just saying she’s motivational, there’s no doubt about that,” Smith said. “She found a way to get to the games.”
Kelce’s resurgence this season has many fans wondering if it’s related to his relatively new relationship with Swift after CBS showed a graph during Sunday’s Chiefs-Chargers game comparing the tight end’s stats with and without the pop star in attendance .

While Swift backed him up in last weekend’s 31-17 win at Kansas, Kelce had 12 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown against LA
Orlovsky pointed to the 33-year-old’s talent and dismissed Swift’s impact, while Sharpe, who played the same position as Kelce in the 1990s, described the former quarterback as a “hater.”
However, Orlovsky was quick to point out that he had taken his wife and daughter to see the film “Eras Tour.”
“I want to be with someone who also motivates me,” Qerim said at the time.
“Is that what you said?” Smith replied, returning to his suggestive tone.
Kelce and Swift were spotted dining at an Argentinian steakhouse in Kansas City on Monday.
