Stephen A. Smith calls out Kamala Harris for not answering questions from press since leading the Democratic ticket

Stephen A. Smith has criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for not holding a press conference or giving a televised personal interview since becoming the Democratic frontrunner.

Harris has not implemented either measure since President Joe Bien announced last month that he would not seek re-election and endorsed Harris as the next president of the United States.

Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee, as the party rallied behind her after Biden withdrew from the presidential race.

Harris’ lack of a press conference or recorded interview was criticized by her political opponents.

Now Smith joins them and hopes to hear from her, even though he admits Harris already voted in November.

“We’ve had three weeks and one day since Joe Biden stepped aside,” Smith said. “The only place we’ve seen Kamala Harris is at pep rallies. Somebody’s got to say something.”

“And it can’t just be conservatives. Right is right,” Smith continued. “I’m talking to my sister here, come on. You’re running for president of the United States of America. You’ve got my vote. What are you hiding from? I mean, you’re hiding in plain sight.”

“No press conference, no interview where someone can question you one-on-one. … That’s not fair,” Smith added.

Smith concluded that critics of Harris who want to hear more from her unfiltered have every right to complain.

The ESPN analyst drew a line at anyone who used Harris’ race or national origins to denigrate her.

Smith suggested asking about her record, especially since she is committed to Biden’s record and has touted it during the campaign.
