Stephanie Seymour, 56, was an ’80s supermodel who posed for Playboy and dated Axl Rose – see her now

Stephanie Seymour was a top model who flourished in the 1980s and 1990s.

The doe-eyed wonder was one of the most famous supermodels, along with Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer.

The 56-year-old brunette beauty was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and on the cover of Vogue, but was also a former Victoria’s Secret Angel.

She worked on the biggest campaigns for Versace and Fendi, and even dated Guns N Roses singer Axl Rose.

In 2014, Seymour was named global spokesperson for Estée Lauder. And she also starred in an episode of Law & Order.

The New Yorker continues to look stunning as she recently posted images on Instagram.

Born in San Diego, California, Seymour began modeling for local newspapers as a teenager.

At the age of 15 in 1983, she was a finalist in the first Elite Model Management Look of the Year modeling competition (now called Elite Model Look).

Seymour posed for the Victoria’s Secret catalogs.

And she was a hit for Hugh Hefner: In March 1991, and again in February 1993, Seymour posed for Playboy.

In 1998, Seymour wrote Stephanie Seymour’s Beauty Secrets for Dummies.

In 2006, she appeared with her children in a campaign for Gap.

Salvatore Ferragamo’s creative campaign for his autumn/winter 2007/2008 collection featured Seymour and Claudia Schiffer.

She and Axl were front page news. They started dating in 1991. She appeared in two Guns N’ Roses music videos: Don’t Cry and November Rain. The couple was reportedly engaged, but they separated in February 1993

Seymour was joined by fellow fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Daria Werbowy, Christy Turlington and Amber Valletta for the September issue of Interview magazine entitled ‘Model’.

Seymour co-founded and launched the lingerie line Raven & Sparrow in 2017.

And she looked amazing on the cover of Vanity Fair last year.

Seymour’s first acting role was as explosives expert Cynna Stone in the video game Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller.

She played the unusual role of a live actor in a game whose characters and landscapes were almost all CG renderings.

In 2000, Seymour played Helen Frankenthaler in the film Pollock.

In 2002, she played the role of Sara Lindstrom in the “Crazy” episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

At the age of 14, she started dating 42-year-old John Casablancas, the head of Elite Model Management, who was married to model Jeanette Christiansen at the time. The couple lived together before Seymour broke off the relationship.

From 1989 to 1990 she was married to guitarist Tommy Andrews. They have a son together named Dylan.

In mid-1991 she became involved with Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N’ Roses. She appeared in two Guns N’ Roses music videos: ‘Don’t Cry’ and ‘November Rain’. The couple was engaged but separated in February 1993.

In August 1993, Rose sued Seymour, claiming she assaulted him and stole more than $100,000 worth of jewelry.

Seymour protested, claiming he was physically abusive.

Seymour subpoenaed Erin Everly, Rose’s ex-wife, to testify that she had also been abused by him. The lawsuits were eventually settled.

Shortly after her split from Rose, Seymour began dating businessman Peter Brant, who was married and the father of five children. She gave birth to the couple’s first son, Peter II, in December 1993.

Seymour and Brant married in Paris in July 1995. Seymour gave birth to a second son, Harry, in 1996 and a daughter in 2004. In March 2009, Seymour filed for divorce from Brant after almost 14 years of marriage. The couple reconciled in 2010.

In January 2021, Harry died of an accidental prescription drug overdose at the age of 24, after struggling with addiction for several years.

Last year she said she was wearing her late son’s clothes. She admitted that it “feels so good” to keep his memory alive through his favorite outfits.

She told WSJ. magazine about wearing Harry’s suit for the photo shoot at her interview: ‘It’s a suit that I keep hanging in my dressing room, which is a big room where I keep all my stuff. I do my makeup there. I live in that room.

“I looked at that suit one night and said, ‘I’m going to put it on.’ It suited me.

‘It still feels so good to put his clothes on.

‘I’ve packed these huge suitcases with all his stuff, and I feel like I want to keep photographing his clothes because I think he would love it. He has a whole group of women who want to wear his clothes and be photographed. That is something I will enjoy doing.’

Stephanie recalled how Harry and his brother Peter were always interested in fashion and enjoyed choosing her outfits when she attended parent-teacher meetings at school.

She remembers, “It was the cutest thing when they were in elementary school. I would say, ‘Okay, you can pick my outfit,’ and he would go through everything, the vintage, everything, and put it all on the floor.”

One time, Harry chose a baby blue vintage Christian Dior dress and matching Manolo Blahnik shoes.

She added: “I’d say, ‘Harry, I can’t wear a vintage couture dress to a parent-teacher conference’ and he’d say, ‘Why not?’

Stephanie also revealed that her eldest son Dylan – whose father is her first husband Tommy Andrews – became a father for the first time in October and named his son in honor of his late half-brother.

She said: ‘He had a little boy. And they called him Harry.’
