Steph Curry trolled by Jordan Poole as he mimicks mouthguard ejection

Steph Curry felt it was “too soon,” but teammate Jordan Poole couldn’t resist mimicking the mouthguard toss that sent him off after securing the win against the Grizzlies.

Curry was ejected from the game with 1:14 remaining in regulation after throwing his mouthpiece into the stands.

Curry was not happy with what he saw as an ill-judged 3-point attempt from Jordan Poole, and as a result, his mouthguard was thrown, leading to his automatic ejection.

The pair embraced in the tunnel after Poole secured a 122-120 win against the Memphis Grizzlies.

But after Poole secured victory in the final moments, he couldn’t resist trolling his teammate, who was waiting for him in the tunnel.

“I don’t even know what you’re talking about, bro,” Poole said sheepishly, a wry smile on his face afterwards.

When asked specifically about his tunnel meeting with Curry, Poole, who sealed a 122-120 win, added: “I don’t even remember.” short memory We hugged a bit.

“Obviously he’s our leader and we’d love to have him in the game in the last three and we found a way to push ourselves, get a big win against a really good team.” And I have to keep that momentum going.

It’s only the third ejection of Curry’s NBA career, and all have involved his mouth guard.

In Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals, the Akron-born star was ejected for a mouthguard throw; in a 2017 matchup with the Grizzlies, she threw her mouth guard at a referee; now, against the Grizzlies again, she made the third mouthguard-related ejection.

When asked why he was so “hot” about Poole’s earlier take, Curry explained his thought process at the time.

“A pivotal moment in the game and the way our season has gone,” Curry said.

There are doubts about the heightened sense of urgency of each detail. When you want something as desperate as getting the win and in the fourth quarter, the execution, the clutch situation, all of that matters, so I reacted in a way that obviously took me out of the game and put the team in a difficult place.

“But the intentions and the energy around what matters in the sense of winning, that’s what it’s all about. Fortunately, my teammates responded extremely well. Klay [Thompson] with a great shot. JP with the winner of the game at the end.

Poole finally came up with the winning goal and wanted to score it by trolling Curry.

‘The execution was great. We needed that one, so there was a sense of urgency for sure. He let my emotions get in the way.

Having secured the victory, which got them back on track after losing to the Nets last time out, head coach Steve Kerr was eager to put an end to his star’s ouster.

“I didn’t see what happened at the time, so when the ref called him, I was confused and then the coaches told me that he threw the mouth guard out of anger,” Kerr said.

‘And I guess he threw it into the stands? Sideways, yes. So I think it’s an automatic expulsion.

You know you can’t make that mistake again. But he was very proud of the boys. They fought and executed down the stretch and gave us the win.’
