Buffalo Bills team reporter Maddy Glab was forced to apologize Wednesday after she was caught on a hot mic while speaking negatively about wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Glab, who worked for the Bills for several years, could be heard claiming in a conversation with one of her colleagues Wednesday that she has “no control” over Diggs.

Without knowing the microphone was still on, she told her colleague when asked if Diggs would be handling media duties, “There is no control over Stefon Diggs. Dude’s gonna do what he wants to do.

“He looks at me and says ‘F you’, that’s how he treats everyone.”

Glab’s comment about Diggs, the star wide receiver who spent the past four years in Buffalo, was leaked online Wednesday as fans were baffled by her claims.

However, after the video quickly went viral, the Bills reporter herself took to social media to clarify that her comments were simply tongue-in-cheek.

“I want to take responsibility for what I said today,” she wrote in a statement. ‘I am very sorry for what I said and no offense was intended. I respect Stefon Diggs immensely, and he was one of my favorite players to cover.

‘He has a great character and treats our media with great respect. He takes the time to talk to us, which he doesn’t have to do.

“For context, the media was waiting for players to come to the press conferences when a reporter jokingly told me to go get Stefon Diggs.

“I said I have no control over him – Stef marches to the beat of his own drum and I love that about him.

“He has a playful relationship with our video department, so that’s why I said he probably wouldn’t say yes if I invited him for an interview.”

“I shouldn’t have said what I said, and for that I apologize. Stef is not wrong, I am.’

Diggs was one of the few positives the Bills were able to take from their opening loss to the New York Jets on Monday night, in which the hosts clinched the win with an incredible punt return touchdown in overtime.

Nevertheless, the 29-year-old still managed to catch 10 passes for 102 yards while scoring the team’s only touchdown that night.

Next up for Diggs and the Bills is the Las Vegas Raiders’ visit to Buffalo on Sunday night.
