SteelSeries has announced its first-ever set of truly wireless gaming earbuds, and their features really do seem to offer a ready-made solution for anyone looking for the best gaming earbuds for their setup this year.
An attractive addition to the Sony Inzone Buds and PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds, the Arctis GameBuds are packed with premium features.
SteelSeries presents these earbuds as a package that is not only great for gaming but also suitable for your daily lifestyle. You can use them everywhere for music, work, TV, entertainment and so on.
The headline feature set is the addition of neodymium (6mm) drivers tuned to SteelSeries’ signature high-quality sound, which the brand claims deliver “intense 360-degree audio.” Complementing this is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) powered by a four-microphone system designed to increase your immersion in your gaming sessions.
A third audio-focused feature – and following in the footsteps of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 wireless gaming headset – is compatibility with the mobile companion app. This works much the same as the Nova 5 app, offering up over 100 game presets, as well as some useful display and options features, all of which can be chosen and changed on the fly. This is done in conjunction with the onboard button, which feels more like a laptop pad than the touch controls of other earbuds.
The GameBuds also share the Arctis line’s recent penchant for multi-platform compatibility, with the buds working across all major platforms, consoles, and devices. However, if you want the maximum compatibility out of the buds, the Xbox model – like the headsets of late – is the one to go for.
Completing the feature set are dual connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4Ghz, over 40 hours of battery life (10 hours per use and three charges in the case), wireless charging (already featuring Qi wireless charging capabilities), and an ergonomic design based on over 62,000 ear scans.
The GameBuds come at just the right time to pair with a PS5 Pro, an iPhone 16 or a new Xbox console. They seem to offer a very complete and attractive package that can compete with the best games in the game.
The Arctis GameBuds are available for pre-order today, September 26, from SteelSeries’ own website – the same day PS5 Pro pre-orders begin – and will hit stores on October 29. The GameBuds launch for $159.99 / £159.99 / AU$169.99.
Stay tuned, as we’ll be publishing our full SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds review soon.
