Steelers safety Damontae Kazee ejected for brutal hit on Michael Pittman Jr which forced Colts wideout off with a concussion
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. left their game against the Steelers early Saturday night after taking a brutal hit from Pittsburgh safety Damontae Kazee.
Kazee was ejected from the match for unnecessary roughness after colliding heavily with Pittman Jr. when the Colts star attempted a diving catch in the second quarter at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Pittman's teammates immediately surrounded him and some players from both teams took a knee as trainers tended to him. He left the field after lying on the ground for a few minutes. The Colts announced later in the quarter that Pittman had a concussion and would not return.
Pittman, the Colts' leading receiver, had four catches for 78 yards before the hit, giving him 99 receptions for 1,063 yards this season. He fell four catches short of breaking Marvin Harrison's franchise record for consecutive games with eight or more receptions (six).
