Steam is right on time with its Halloween-themed sale on PC games

Darkness falls on the land earlier this time of year, giving you a little more time with each passing day to enjoy spooky video games in a dark, gloomy setting. If you need some action to scare and entertain you, check out the Steam Scream sale that’s discounting tons of games — some of which aren’t that scary, actually. The Amazing Spider-Man Remastered it’s 40% off all games.

Steam Scream: The Avengers’ protocol Curated by some of the popular horror games that are discounted, I think it’s a blessing that saves me from sorting through a steamy steam catalog. You can also browse through the top sellers and the most downloaded demos, which is where you’ll find the Silent Hill-inspired demo for the PS1. Crow country.

Even with some treatment, there are still a ton of games per book. If you just want some recs, we have some for you below.

Inscription it’s $9.99 (was $19.99). Don’t let what is a card game scare you. This title features feats that I didn’t think were possible in games, with multiple sections that completely defy expectations.

Alien loneliness it’s $13.59 (was $39.99). Confession time: I didn’t beat this game, but not for lack of trying. What starts out as a cool exploration game turns into a first-person survival game where I’m afraid to take a step – let alone breathe – in real life. It’s the most suspended I’ve experienced in a game.

Faith: Holy Trinity it’s $14.99. When it comes to horror, less is always more. This title’s subdued presentation uses an 8-bit visuals with an eye-catching draw to convey its psychological horror.

Holy Theft: Ghost Detective it’s $19.79 (was $29.99). Look, not all games are scary ghosts. Some can be a little blunt indeed. This recent remaster of Capcom’s cult classic on the Nintendo DS has a dense gameplay hook and amazing music.

To be hunted: Showdown it’s $29.99 (was $39.99). This is a co-op PvPvE game that my friends still can’t get over. Dozens of players load into a spooky bayou set occupied by AI enemies, and whoever kills the target first, grabs the loot, and emerges victorious. This game is constantly adding new forms of content in weapons, characters and costumes. In case you were wondering what Crytek is doing CrisisSo far, the answer is: keeping and sharpening this gorgeous FPS title for gamers.

Empire: The Last Edition it’s $9.99 (was $39.99). Scary? Not exactly, but definitely spooky at times. Remedy Entertainment has a third-person award show above X files and twin peaksbut you have to do it, even if they show it on TV, it doesn’t mean anything to you. Gaining physics altering powers is just fun.

Capcom

Resident Evil 2 it’s $9.99 (was $39.99). I’m not sure who’s listening to this yet, but Capcom won’t be sleeping on the stunning 2019 remake. Resident Evil 2. Whether you try it before or after you play it RE4 to be reformed (that is $39.59 on sale), this game is different enough — and very good in its own right — to warrant a playthrough for Halloween.
