I’m a childless man – I respect stay-at-home-mothers, but it’s not a real job, it’s easy and a privilege
A man has sparked controversy after claiming that a stay-at-home mom is not eligible for a job.
A TikTok user named Jared Sayre, from the US, took to the social media platform to express his views on the matter.
In the controversial statement, he claimed that the role of a housewife is “not a job, but a privilege.”
He wondered, “Do you know how many single mothers there are who actually have a job and have to come home to do your job?”
Jared has received backlash for the videoand another content creator, Dustin Poynter, put the video together to refute his claims — and received a lot of support in the process.
Jared Sayre (pictured), from the US, caused a storm online after claiming that being a stay-at-home mom is not a real job
Jared continued his argument, saying, “I was laid off for four months and had to stay home, and it’s the easiest sex I’ve ever had in my life.
“I can take on all the daily responsibilities of caring for a home in no time, and all you have to do is look after your child.”
Jared, who apparently has no children, added, “And I’m not attacking stay-at-home moms, I respect them, and I honestly think the world needs more of it because it’s good for the child.”
He concluded, “At a full-time job you can’t take a nap, at a full-time job you can’t watch TV, at a full-time job there’s someone watching your every move and demanding you do what they’re doing. participation.’
In response to Jared’s statement, another content creator, Dustin Poytner, refuted the argument.
Dustin compared Jared’s claim that being a stay-at-home mom is “not a job” to a red flag.
He explained, “Look, I don’t have kids either, but I grew up with three siblings, a stay-at-home mom and a stay-at-home stepmom.
“I witnessed firsthand the stress of maintaining an entire house, Olympic diving around the kitchen to keep your child from putting their hand in the garbage can 50 times a day, and listening to constant screaming and collapses.
Jared said she respects stay-at-home moms and believes the world needs more of them because they benefit children
“And most importantly, try not to cause irrevocable physical and psychological harm to an innocent human being who did not request his presence here.
“So let’s not contradict things we have no experience with.”
Dustin’s clip received more than 130,000 likes, with many taking to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One said: ‘Wait a minute, stay home, mom is watching TV and taking a nap? I must be doing this wrong.
A second added: ‘Someone leave him alone with at least two children under five for a week and see how he is doing.’
Social media users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on Jared’s claims, and many disagreed
A third wrote: ‘The audacity to think you’re just ‘watching’ your children instead of raising them.’
Another said: ‘Others stay at home Moms take naps?!?! Sign me up, I can’t do that.’
Another person interjected and said, “I’ve been to both. Being a stay-at-home mom is much harder.”
Another agreed, writing: ‘Being a mother is the hardest job I’ve ever done, it’s the best job but also the most demanding and it’s a privilege to do.’
