State of Origin: 9Now error causes fans to miss out on Adelaide game
Furious footy fans are hammering at 9Now as technical issues prevent them from watching State of Origin: ‘When are they going to get Nine’s footy? Waste’
Footy fans have taken to Twitter to rage at Channel 9 after the streaming service crashed during the State of Origin series opener.
Some viewers were unable to watch Game 1 in Adelaide due to an issue with 9Now, the streaming platform for the broadcasting titan.
9Now confirmed it was investigating an issue, but fans were far from impressed when Queensland took on New South Wales in South Australia.
They responded to a fan who flagged the issue and said, “We are currently investigating this issue and will resolve it as soon as possible.”
But fans were not won over by the broadcaster’s explanation and posted their anger online.
Footy fans were unable to watch State of Origin due to an error on Nine’s streaming platform
“Interesting take on 9Now’s Origin,” one fan posted with a screenshot that read “Error 503.”
Another fan commented, “Yeah dear @9Nu no one in the country wanted to look at the state of origin anyway” alongside a facepalm emoji.
One fan said what everyone thought: “This sucks.”
“When are they going to make the nine footy? @9now app junk,” said a fourth fan.
“@9 Please sort out your app,” another fan posted. ‘Can’t log in, bad gateway. Time-out. Again and again. #tension.’
It remains unclear what caused the error as 9Now were unable to fix the issue midway through the first half of the game at Adelaide Oval.
