Stassi Schroeder regrets ‘cringe’ decision to ‘throw away’ $40K on declaring National OOTD Day

“What a waste of money!” Stassi Schroeder regrets ‘cringe’ decision to ‘throw away’ $40,000 to declare ‘National OOTD Day’ a holiday

Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder has admitted she regrets her “cringe” decision to “throw away” $40,000 to buy a vacation.

The 34-year-old took over the amount to have June 30, 2018 declared “National OOTD Day”, with the acronym standing for: “Outfit Of The Day”.

She bought the holiday by paying a company called the National Day Calendar, according to Slate. A 2016 report in the Wall Street Journal said buyers will have to pay anywhere from $2,300 to $4,500.

However, Stassi claims she spent $40,000 – only to find out the purchase was only valid for a year and she would have to pay again to renew it.

“What a waste of money!” she said on a new episode of the podcast Call her daddy. “I don’t care if people come for me, because I deserve to come for me.”

Stassi celebrated National OOTD Day on an episode of Vanderpump Rules that aired in 2019 — before she got married, hit the wagon, and became a mother.

She is now heavily pregnant with her second daughter by her rambunctious husband Beau Clark, who has a job in commercial casting.

Appearing on the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, Stassi smiled back at the time when she rushed “bought a national holiday.”

Stassi explained that “not only do you like your own vacations for free,” and when asked how much she spent, she replied, “It’s so embarrassing. I think it was about $40,000.”

She confessed, “No, it’s so embarrassing, and guys, I wouldn’t do it again, okay? I would never just throw that money away to go on vacation.’

Stassie insisted she considered the purchase “good branding” at the time and made the decision in “business mode” as she prepared for the publication of her literary debut Next Level Basic: The Definitive Basic B**** Handbook.

Only later did she discover that ‘you own’ [the holiday] for a year, and I didn’t know that, and so the next year came and they were like, ‘Okay, you have to pay for it again or like — ‘I think it was just the same amount.’

Her response was, “You’ve lost your mind. This is a lifetime commitment that you think I’m going to spend every year?’

She reiterated how “embarrassed” she is in retrospect, saying, “I don’t care if people come for me because I deserve to come for me.”

After buying the holiday, Stassi threw an OOTD day party that unfolded in front of reality TV cameras for Vanderpump Rules.

“One day it could become a federal holiday and banks and schools will even close,” she trumpeted on the show. “So you’re welcome.”

Stassi and her co-star Kristen Doute were fired from Vanderpump Rules in June 2020 for racist profiling of their black castmate Faith Stowers.

During the Black Lives Matter riots, Faith revealed that Stassi and Kristen once misidentified her as a black woman wanted for robbery and called the police.

Faith infamously had an affair with her co-star Jax Taylor when he was already involved with Brittany Cartwright, who is now his wife.

Jax was also romantically involved with Stassi at one point, who dumped him for cheating on her with none other than Kristen.
