Jane Kennedy and Rob Sitch are two of Australian comedy’s most recognizable stars, known for their time on the hit ABC series Frontline in the 1990s.

The married couple, who rarely appear on the red carpet together, enjoyed a date night at the opening performance of the new play Bloom at the Melbourne Arts Center on Saturday.

Kennedy, 59, looked chic in a black cape paired with wide legs and patent leather shoes.

She added some bracelets and a gold wristwatch while opting for a classic makeup look with a pop of color with red lipstick.

Jane Kennedy and Rob Sitch are two of Australian comedy’s most recognizable stars, known for their time on the hit ABC series Frontline in the 1990s.

Frontline was a satire on TV current affairs shows, with Sitch playing dimwitted anchor Mike Moore and Kennedy playing aspiring reporter Brooke Vandenberg.

Sitch, 61, was casually chic in a black velvet blazer with a simple T-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.

The couple, who have been married for decades, share five children, including son Joshua Sitch who starred in Little Lunch on the ABC.

Three decades have passed since Frontline first aired on the ABC.

The show took viewers behind the scenes of a fictional current affairs program and is fondly remembered for its sharp satire of television tabloid news.

Frontline is made by Working Dog Productions – the company behind cult films The Castle and The Dish as well as Channel 10 panel show Have You Been Paying Attention? — and ran for three seasons from 1994 to 1997.

Sitch starred as Mike Moore, Frontline’s main anchor who considers himself a serious journalist, but is really a self-centered blockhead with no knowledge of current affairs.

Since the end of the series, Sitch has continued to work as an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter on Working Dog.

His recent TV credits include the Australian comedy program Utopia (2014), for which he was the lead actor, producer, writer and creator.
