Starfield mod transforms the Adoring Fan into ‘a combat machine’

A new Starfield mod has gone out of its way to improve the Adoring Fan – the iconic (and rather annoying) companion character first seen in The older roles 4: Oblivion.

The Adoring Fan is one of them Starfield's most infamous NPCs, solely because of its old Forgetfulness carrots. Since ForgetfulnessAfter the game's release, he became an icon of annoyance, relentlessly following players and praising everything they did. In the 2006 game, it's possible to get rid of him, but it's not exactly easy – hence the glorious internet reaction when it was first confirmed that he would don a spacesuit to take you to the depths of space to follow. Starfield.

In Starfield, the Adoring Fan will join you if you select the 'Hero Worshiped' trait when you create your character. Again, you don't have to be stuck with him forever, but assuming you enjoy his company and would like to transform him into an unstoppable 'fighting machine', then Nexus Mods user InquisitorOverhaulsReturn has you covered.

'Juiced Adoring Fan' gives the infamous NPC four new perks, as well as fourth place in Marksmanship, Ballistics, Marksmanship, and Rifle Certification. That's a huge upgrade from his current abilities, which are currently only really useful for carrying things and cleaning up. In addition, he gives players five times more gifts than usual.

“I wanted to make it really strong for people who would like it to be more combat-based,” the mod's description reads. “Vanilla (Adoring Fan) is useless. So this makes him a fighting machine.”

It's always worth exercising caution before downloading unofficial mods like these, but if you want to give it a try you can find it on Nexus Mods.

Modders have been hard at work adding new features and changes Starfield since launch. It took us very little time to get a mod for that replaces the flashlight's beams with a projection of game director Todd Howard's face, For example. Officially modding tools are on the way Starfield sometime next yearalso, at which point we can probably expect even more fan-made tweaks and changes to become available.
