'Starcrossed' Exotic Mission and Secret Chest Guide in Destiny 2: Season of the Wish

The “Starcrossed” mission is new to Lot 2: Season of Wish. It works similarly to the “Avalon” mission from earlier this year and “Operation: Seraph Shield” from Season of the Seraph, in that they are short asides that provide a powerful weapon and some secrets you can unlock each week. to discover.

In “Starcrossed” you enter the Black Garden with Riven and Crow to take on an army of Vex. Your reward? The new Strand Exotic arc: Wish keeper – who can deploy a suspending trap after getting enough kills or precision hits.

In this Lot 2 guide, we'll show you how to complete the Starcrossed mission and find the secret chest.

How to beat the 'Starcrossed' Exotic mission in Destiny 2

“Starcrossed” is essentially just a straight line with a few stops along it, so this guide will focus less on where to go and more on how the mission's three main mechanics work: Sire's obligation, Dam's giftAnd Crowned by dragons. Let's break it down.

Sire's obligation

Your first big mechanic, which you get right before the first big encounter, is something called a buff Sire's obligation. You can get it by standing in a blue pool that appears in some flowers near a closed gate. It takes forever while you're in the pool, but only lasts 45 seconds once you leave.

With Sire's Obligation you can cause damage Stubborn enemies and allows you see the Last Wish symbols. Use the buff to defeat the first Obdurate Phalanx and open the door.

You will put Sire's Obligation into practice during the first encounter. Get the buff from one of the pools and look at the gate at the end of the arena. You will see three symbols in random order. You'll need to check the order yourself each time, but for the sake of this guide, let's use this order as an example: Dragon, Fish, Bird.

Now run around the arena with your buff (make sure to refresh it if you run out of time) and look for Obdurate Phalanx enemies. There are three, each under one of the three symbols you saw on the door. Defeat them in the order of the combination on the door (Dragon, Fish, Bird, in this example) and you open the way. Defeat them in the wrong order and they will all respawn.

Dam's gift

Dam's gift is the second mechanic in this mission and comes from a red pool that comes from certain flower patches. It will last as long as Sire's obligation.

With Dam's Gift you can get the orange mist, which you first encounter just before the first red flower field. Without Dam's Gift, you take damage in the mist and gain the Unwelcome debuff, which will eventually kill you. However, you are safe in the mist as long as you maintain Dam's Gift.

After running through the first mist, you'll need to use Dam's Gift to complete the second encounter. You'll find a red pool in a small arena and three passageways covered in orange mist: left, right, and center. Use Dam's Gift to go down each of these paths and kill them quickly Gatekeeper Wyvern'is inside. Once the Wyvern is dead, a shield above a will disappear Vex nodewith which you can communicate.

Repeat this process until you have killed three Gatekeeper Wyverns and interacted with all three nodes in the arena to complete the challenge.

Crowned by dragons

At the end of the mission you must combine these two improvements. When you enter the next arena, go left for Sire's Obligation and right for Dam's Gift. Once you have both, the buff turns into a single buff: Crowned by dragons.

While crowned by dragons, you can see symbols, damage persistent enemies and travel through the orange mist. Completing either buff will extend Crowned by Dragons to 45 seconds.

With Crowned by Dragons in hand, look at the large door in the center of the room to get your lock combination. Then run around the room and kill the Obdurate enemies in the correct order. There is one hardened enemy in the main room, and one in each of the two wings of the arena. To get to the wings you'll have to travel through orange mist, so make sure you never lose Crowned by Dragons.

How to beat Akardon, Pitiless Mind, in Destiny 2

Once you open the door, you'll face the final boss, a huge Vex Hydra: Akardon, ruthless spirit. You can damage the boss from the start of the fight as long as you have Crowned by Dragons. However, it's much easier to kill the boss if you remove the rotating shield, which tends to block a lot of incoming damage if you don't time your shots right.

To do this, use Crowned by Dragons to kill both Ruthless companion Phalanx enemies in the room with the Hydra. Once they're both dead, the boss will lose his shield and start spawning Taken enemies. Kill him quickly and then go to the treasure room to complete the mission.

Destiny 2 'Starcrossed' secret chest location

When you first start 'Starcrossed' you will find yourself in an area with a large chasm and have to jump over some plant leaves. The first part of this area is fairly open, but eventually you'll have to turn right and walk across a huge tree branch, which will lead you to a narrow opening and the rest of the mission.

As soon as you turn around and hit that big tree branch, you stop. Instead of moving on, look down and around you. You'll find a ledge that leads to a small alcove.

Head into this small area and you will find a Dreaming City chest against the wall. Open it for one Season of the Immortal Weapon.

If you're struggling with this chest, I recommend trying the Wombo Detector Ghost Shell mod enabled, which allows you to detect nearby treasure chests and resources.
