Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed when Star Wars: The Acolyte will make its Disney Plus debut – and it’s almost exactly when we expected it to.
Confirmed today (March 18) on X/Twitter, the next Star Wars TV series will launch on Disney’s primary streamer on Tuesday, June 4. The official announcement will come about a month later. The acolyteThe game’s apparent release date has been leaked online. Collider, which leaked this information in late February, suggested it would arrive on June 7, so the US outlet wasn’t far off with its guess.
We already knew that The acolyte was one of several Marvel and Star Wars shows confirmed for 2024, but it’s nonetheless gratifying to finally see an official launch date.

That’s not the only good news Star Wars fans will receive this week The acolyte. Indeed, the X/Twitter post also confirms that something else will be revealed tomorrow (March 19), which pretty much confirms that Star Wars: The Acolyte‘s first trailer will be released publicly. It’s unclear whether this first look at the Disney Plus series will be the same teaser that was shown to Star Wars Celebration 2023 attendees in London last May, or if it will be an entirely new, pieced-together trailer. Either way, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
It’s about time we see a trailer too. We reported this in mid-February The acolyteThe film’s first public trailer was ready to go, although industry insider Daniel Richtman – who claimed a teaser had been prepared – declined to say when it would arrive. Much like the leak of the highly anticipated show’s release date, Disney and Lucasfilm made us all wait a little longer for an official reveal.
As for the plot, we don’t know much about it Star Wars: The Acolyte. The only official information we have is a brief summary courtesy of StarWars.com, which revealed that it will be “a mystery thriller that takes viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and rising forces of the dark side in the final days of the High Republic era.” As part of his story, The acolyte follows an ex-Padawan who “reunites with her Jedi master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are more sinister than they ever expected.”
However, Dafne Knee, one of many cast updates The acolyte received in November 2022, Ny Breaking exclusively shared – in December 2023 – that the series will show how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi Order. Now that a release date has been revealed and a trailer is less than 24 hours away (at the time of writing) before it’s released online, it’s time to really get excited for one of the many new Star Wars TV shows and films that’ will be with us for years to come. Prepare your Star Wars cosplay accordingly, everyone.
