Star Wars alums Emilia Clarke and Daisy Ridley reveal if they would return to the franchise

A pair of Star Wars alumni are responding to whether they would be willing to reprise their respective roles in the epic space opera franchise.

Emilia Clarke and Daisy Ridley, who finished their characters’ stories in the films they starred in, were asked the question while attending the 2023 Sundance Film Festival that kicked off on January 19.

For Clarke, she didn’t mince words when she responded with a quick “no,” while Ridley had a different response when she confessed that she would definitely consider coming back.

Clarke, 36, played the role of Qi’ra, Han Solo’s childhood friend and romantic interest, in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).

While promoting the new sci-fi rom-com film The Pod Generation at Sundance, the British actress was asked if her interest in making more genre films would extend to a galaxy far, far away.

“I mean…no,” he said with a smile, according to independent wire, and added: ‘That would be lovely, that would be very good. I’m having a really hard time with Marvel though, they are absolutely brilliant.

Clarke is currently working on Marvel’s Secret Invasion for Disney+, which stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, along with Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle.

The six-episode show, which is intended to be the ninth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is scheduled to premiere in early 2023.

For Ridley, 30, he was at the famous Park City, Utah film festival promoting his new movie Sometimes I Feel Like I’m Dying.

Her experience playing Rey in the Star Wars universe actually spans three movies: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

In an interview with IMDBthe London, England native confessed that she would definitely consider returning to the fold.

‘I mean, I’m open to a phone call. I’am looking for a job!’ she said.

The actress also spoke with the wrapper about how she has watched the various shows in the Star Wars franchise on Disney+ and considers herself a huge fan.

I haven’t seen them all, but it’s just because of time and stuff. But yeah, I mean the work that everyone is doing is amazing,” she shared. “I worked with Pedro Pascal and I said, ‘This is really cool; he’s The Mandalorian.'” I still find it all very exciting.
