Star Trek legend William Shatner is living up to his reputation as an animal lover after he was spotted doting on his two dogs during a visit to the vet last week.
The legendary actor, who turns 93 in March, showed up early to a Los Angeles veterinary clinic for a morning appointment for his two beloved Dobermans, Espresso and Mocha, while initially sitting outside waiting for the clinic to open.
At one point, he got into a tangle with one of the dogs after the pup looked like it was trying to escape its leash.

Both pets were eventually brought inside for their appointment, with Shatner choosing to wait outside for an hour.
Dressed in a plaid shirt, sweatpants and black puffer vest, the TV icon appeared nervous as he waited for his pups, one of which appeared to have undergone a procedure.
He chewed on his glasses while looking at his phone and walking around with his hands in his pockets.
After about an hour, the puppies emerged and were cleared to go home, although one wore a protective cone around its neck.
Shatner loved them then and fussed as nurses helped him lift the animals into the trunk of his SUV.
The movie star is known for his deep appreciation for animals, as he is a long-time Doberman owner and horse breeder and even bonds with his wife Elizabeth over their mutual love of horseback riding.

Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, in January 2021, the original Captain Kirk opened up about his beloved pups.
‘I currently have two Dobermans. I love that breed. You have to train them early because they take off like a rocket and unless you train them to obey, you will have a hard time dealing with them,” he said at the time.
The Canadian-born star remains extremely active despite his old age and last year celebrated the release of the feature-length documentary dedicated to his illustrious career, entitled You Can Call Me Bill.
Leading up to the debut, Shatner candidly discussed his own mortality, saying he “doesn’t have long to live,” but decided to make the film as a way to “reach his grandchildren” after his death.
Speaking to Variety, he said: ‘I have turned down many offers to make documentaries. But I don’t have long to live.”
“Whether I fall over while I’m talking to you or 10 years from now, my time is limited, so that’s a big factor. I have grandchildren. This documentary is a way to connect after I die.”

William is father to daughters Leslie, Lisabeth and Melanie from three previous marriages and is grandfather of five.
He was married to his fourth and most recent wife, Elizabeth Martin, from 2001 until their divorce in 2020, but confirmed last year that they had reconciled three years after their $2 million divorce.
The actor reunited with Elizabeth, 64, and attended the Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills last January.
William and Elizabeth reached a divorce settlement in March 2020 after 19 years of marriage.
He also paid Elizabeth a lump sum of $2 million for spousal support as per their prenuptial agreement,” TMZ reported.
As part of the settlement, William kept his home in Studio City and a ranch in Three Rivers, California (near Sequoia National Park).
