Stanford Republicans slam students for ‘harassing’ dean

Stanford Republicans have spoken out against a group of students who “harassed” a law school dean for apologizing to a conservative judge who was heckled on the faculty during a visit last week.

In a Facebook post, the group labeled students “fascists” who “dressed in black and formed a mob to ambush Dean Martinez to boo and shame her.”

They have called the entire debacle “appalling” and are calling on Stanford to take action against the students and staff involved.

The saga began last week when Trump-appointed Fifth Circuit Judge Kyle Duncan was heckled during a visit to Stanford’s Federalist Law Society by awake students, then ambushed by ‘equity’ dean Tirien Steinbach with a pious speech

Society members had invited him to speak, but a group of left-wing protesters organized by Denni Arnold, according to the student newspaper, vociferously turned him down, and he was seen blowing kisses into the crowd.

Jenny Martinez, dean of Stanford Law School, discovered her classroom had been vandalized on Monday.

They were joined by Steinbach, dean of inclusion at Stanford Law, who read the prepared comments.

After videos of the protest spread online, Stanford Law Dean Jenny Martinez sent Judge Duncan a letter of apology.

Martinez’s apology only further angered the students.

As revenge, they covered their classroom with posters about ‘free speech’ and ‘counter-speech’, claiming that they were also owed an apology.

Photos obtained by The Free Washington Lighthouse shows how some of them bragged on social media afterward, writing, “Dean Martinez, we set up your lectern.”

They also lined up in the hallway outside his office dressed in black shirts in another show of their dismay.

Many say the incident demonstrates the growing intolerance of conservative ideas among the best schools in the country.

Harvard undergraduates are also horrified.

Walker Stewart, a college computer science student, has attended previous Federalist Society events where other judges have spoken.

He told DailyMail.com on Wednesday: ‘They’re really interesting. These are very important people in our judicial system; it is an incredible opportunity for us as students. [to hear them speak and ask them questions].

Walker Stewart, an undergraduate student at Stanford, said he was “appalled” by the stunt.

Thomas and his group of friends were horrified by the stunt during Judge Duncan’s visit.

“It was pretty scary and the more you think about it, the more worrying it becomes. [Steinbach] had prepared written comments.

“It goes against the whole spirit of our school,” he said.

He and other students now hope that Stanford will take action against Steinbach, who he believes should be fired.

Expelling students would be a “bridge too far,” he said, but he wants the school to adjust how such tricks are tolerated.

‘The university has to make it clear that bad behavior cannot continue. Actions have consequences.

‘These are not children or sophomores. These are law school students,” she added.

Stanford College Republicans were founded by students in 2017 to ‘abolish’ the school’s ‘leftist echo chamber’.

They seek to ‘create a cultural environment at Stanford University where students are free to debate and exchange ideas without fear of coercion or reprisal, and where every student has the opportunity to hear conservative ideas. ‘
