Stan Grant has left the ABC for good, months after going on furlough following racist abuse.
His departure was reported by Sky News on Tuesday and comes months after he stepped down as host of Q+A.
Grant had left the show in May after being subjected to “relentless racial filth” after appearing on a panel discussing colonialism before King Charles’ coronation.
He accused the ABC of “institutional failure” and claimed that no one in management supported him.
Last month, the ABC revealed that Grant would not vote again to host Q+A and he is now leaving public broadcasting altogether.
Grant told Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell that he had resigned as a permanent staff member weeks ago, but insisted there was no ‘bad blood’.

The news comes on the same day it was revealed that ABC chairman Ita Buttrose would also be walking away after five years.
Communications Minister Michelle Rowland made the shock announcement on Tuesday.
“Mrs Buttrose is a giant of the Australian media industry and the Government thanks her for her exemplary service as chair of the ABC,” Rowland said in honor of the media icon’s time as head of the national public broadcaster.
She has a lot to do in the remainder of her tenure and will leave the ABC stronger than when she was entrusted with the role in 2019.
“She has navigated public service broadcasting through a challenging period of sharp political criticism, the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing transformation of the ABC so that it can remain an essential part of Australian life in the digital age.”
