Stalker Sequel Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be released in December, according to distributor Plaion.
While not formally confirmed by developer GSC Game World, Plaion’s website – the company formerly known as Koch Media – has noted the highly anticipated shooter sequel due out on December 1, 2023.
So far, so what, right? Fair enough – it’s hardly any concrete evidence. But when you take into account that other games on Plaion’s sites with no release date have been given placeholder dates for December 31, 2023 instead of December 1, some fans are hoping that December 1 is the real thing.
Of course, without formal word from GSC, we can only take this rumor with a hefty bucket of salt, but for now it’s keeping hope alive for fans who were hoping to get stalked by the end of the year. Keep an eye on this space, I think – Gamescom is headed our way soon, so (hopefully) we might find out more then.
The developers of the upcoming first-person apocalyptic shooter, Stalker 2: Heart of ChernobylGSC Game World recently revealed that Russian hackers leaked test versions and other stolen material into the public domain.
After being hacked for “nearly a year and a half”, GSC Game World stated on Twitter that Russian hackers have “accessed and compromised some of (its) leaked information intended for internal testing”.
GSC Game World appealed to fans not to “view or share any leaked material from the game” in case it “spoils (ruined) your experience of exploring the Zone on your own.”
The team revealed that the hackers had exploited a vulnerability, and while it was frustrating, it at least meant that GSC was able to pinpoint where the problem was and address it before it was released…in December or otherwise.
15 years after it was first released, stalker has some time – read here why…
