Stalker 2 developers remain defiant after office fire: “We’ve dealt with worse. This is fine”

As first reported by Vortex and then shared by HazzadorGamin, it appears the fire spread on Thursday evening and caused quite a bit of damage before it was brought under control.
“It’s true,” GSC Game World’s Mol1t said, responding to one of many concerned questions from fans on the game’s Discord channel.
“Fortunately, none of the employees or office staff were injured in the accident. On Thursday a fire broke out in our office in Prague. Although the fire was successfully extinguished, one of the office floors now requires complete restoration. Further details of the accident are still under investigation.
“We express our deepest appreciation for your questions and the expressions of support we have received.
“No anomaly, not even ‘Burner,’ will stop us from pursuing our ultimate goal. We’ve been through worse than that. This is fine.”
The team says the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
GSC Game World also recently announced this Russian hackers leaked test builds and other stolen material into the public domain.
After being hacked for “almost a year and a half”, GSC Game World stated on Twitter that Russian hackers “gained access to and compromised some of the leaked information intended for internal testing.”
GSC Game World appealed to fans not to “view, share and leak material from the game” in case it would “ruin your experience of exploring the Zone on your own.”
The team revealed that the hackers had exploited a vulnerability. While frustrating, it at least meant GSC was able to identify where the problem was and fix it before release.
‘It just feels that way Stalker 2 wasn’t quite ready to be shown off,” wrote TRG’s editor-in-chief, Jake, when he Viewed Stalker 2 at Gamescom 2023.

Stalker 2 remains one of the most anticipated upcoming matches of 2023 and yet could be one of the best FPS games of the year.
