Stacey Solomon announces she’s taking a break from work to spend quality time with her kids after admitting she ‘struggled to be a good parent’

Stacey Solomon takes ten days off from work to spend quality time with her five children and husband Joe Swash.

The 33-year-old Loose Women panelist said she’s excited to go on a “summer adventure” with her family, as she did on Instagram on Wednesday.

She revealed that she had some pre-holiday pampering as she showed off her new manicure and spray tan.

Stacey said, ‘I finished my work – well, for 10 days. Now I get to spend 10 days with you. If you’re wondering why I look so tropical compared to these two, it’s because I had a spray tan and got my nails done.

‘I’m going wild at the nail salon because I’m going on vacation. I lost all sense of what nails were supposed to be and I went back to being my 11 year old self. I’ll show you, I love them so much, full mermaid vibes.”

She added, “So excited to pull these nails out on a summer adventure with my babies.”

Stacey is a mum to sons Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 11, who she has from previous relationships, as well as son Rex, four, Rose, 22 months, and baby Belle, five months, who she shares with Joe.

Joe, who tied the knot with Stacey last year at their home Pickle Cottage, also has son Harry, 16, with his former partner Emma Sophocleous.

It’s because Stacey has ruled out having any more kids, as she and husband Joe “struggled to be good parents” to their blended brood of six.

She opened up to her 5.7 million social media followers during an Instagram Live while dying her hair on Wednesday.

The mother-of-five is currently ruling out adding to her family, but said it would be a “dream to cherish” when she and Joe are older and their children are adults.

Stacey explained: “Me and Joe talked about it when we were away for the night. We couldn’t have any more children.

“Right now, we’re struggling to be good parents, to say the least, and trying to work and do everything else in between. So no not now.’

Stacey continued, “But when we’re older. Because when we left, we were kind of like “Oh god, one day this will be us, just the two of us,” and we have such a huge family that the house is never quiet and we’re never alone.

“And we did say, ‘Oh, it’ll be sad when it’s just the two of us and all the kids are gone,’ so I think I’d like that.

“Joe’s mom is fostering, and I’d like to be a foster home one day when we’re older and all the kids are grown and out of the house, that would be our dream.”

Stacey previously admitted that she is taking every precaution to avoid getting pregnant again.

The TV personality said in an Instagram video, “I have to say me and Joe had the best time together.

“Sometimes I think when you’re in the thick of it and we’ve got all the kids and I’m working and then he’s working and then we’re tagging, it all gets a little tense.

So yeah, those little 36 hours together made me love him so much. Not that I didn’t love him before!’

Joe then appeared and Stacey told him she “forgets” how funny he is because the pair are so busy with everyday life.

She continued: “We are on a mini-break high and really love each other. We were kissing yesterday and the guys were like, “Urgh! You disgust me!”

“Oh, for those of you texting me saying this is baby number six — no no no! Don’t worry, we’re taking every precaution to make sure this doesn’t happen!’

Joe and Stacey first met when she was crowned Queen of the Jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2010.

Joe hosted the spin-off show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW! – which hosted Stacey – after previously winning the show in 2008.

The couple got together in early 2016 and moved in October 2018 with their blended family.

Stacey and Joe announced their engagement in December 2020 after he proposed on Christmas Eve with a huge diamond and they tied the knot in a low-key ceremony at their Essex home, Pickle Cottage, in July 2022.
