Revealed: What Prince Harry said to a fan on her honeymoon during surprise walkabout after Invictus Games event

Watch the moment Prince Harry takes a surprise walk after his Invictus Games event to joke with a fan on her honeymoon.

The Duke of Sussex left St Paul’s Cathedral, after an event celebrating ten years of the charity, to greet the public before being escorted to his car.

The crowd, who were very supportive of King Charles’ youngest son at his event, shouted ‘we love you Harry’, while the smiling Royal jovially responded to a woman who said she was here for her honeymoon by saying: ‘That didn’t you ‘But aren’t we getting married in St Paul’s?’

At the event, he was greeted by members of his late mother’s family and was seen on camera hugging them both warmly, but no other royals attended the ceremony due to “busy schedules.”

The late Princess of Wales’s younger brother Earl Spencer and older sister Lady Jane Fellowes walked side by side to St Paul’s before chatting to their nephew, who now lives in the US.

However, his wife, Meghan Markle, is said to have made the decision not to join her husband in Britain for fear of a bad reception.

Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murty also joined the group, wearing a green military-style jacket with gold buttons, where she was joined by Secretary of State for Veterans Affairs Johnny Mercer.

Other stars in the crowd included former Olympic champion three-time jumper Jonathan Edwards.

Prince Harry’s spokesman had claimed on Tuesday that the king had been too busy to see his youngest son during his fleeting visit to Britain. However, last night Palace sources suggested no formal requests for a meeting had been made.

King Charles, who was invited to attend the service in central London, held the first garden party of the season at Buckingham Palace.

The monarch was joined for the first summer festivities by Queen Camilla, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The only senior royals missing were the Prince and Princess of Wales. William handed out prizes in Windsor as Kate continues to undergo treatment for cancer.

Despite well-documented tensions with the Windsors, Prince Harry has remained close to his mother’s family, especially Lady Jane, over the years.

Lady Jane, the middle of three sisters, four years older than Diana, has long been seen as a confidante and a stabilizing influence in his life.

She was asked to give a talk at Harry’s wedding to Meghan in 2018 and was one of the first members invited to meet their baby son Archie – even before Prince William.

In his impressive memoir Spare, he ‘conspicuously’ thanked Lady Jane, her elder sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer, but failed to mention the late Queen, King Charles or his brother.

It’s no surprise that two of the siblings attended yesterday’s ceremony to lend support to Diana’s youngest child.

In addition to his aunt and uncle, Harry was surrounded by a number of dignitaries, politicians and close friends.

His lawyer David Sherbourne was present, while former army officer Mark Dyer – who mentored Harry especially after his mother’s death – was also in the congregation.

Prince Harry is expected to fly back to the US today.
