St Kilda, Melbourne: Driver rushed to hospital aftertree and becoming trapped in their car

A young man has been rushed to hospital after crashing into a tree.

Emergency services rushed to the town of St Kilda, in Melbourne’s south-east, after the driver crashed into the tree about 5.30am on Friday.

The driver, a man believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was trapped in their vehicle for a short time before being rushed to The Alfred for treatment.

The scene is still cordoned off to the public with police tape.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing.
