A teenager who was stabbed to death on a popular Melbourne beach barely had his driver’s license for two days when he tragically died after finding himself in the middle of a massive street fight.

Hashim Mohamed, 18, from Tarneit, in the west of the city, was a budding entrepreneur and dreamed of one day starting his own business.

A photograph posted online Friday showed the 18-year-old leaning against a silver sedan and holding a certificate of completion after passing his P-Plate test.

But less than two days later, Hashim’s life was unfortunately cut short when a fight broke out between two groups of young men on St Kilda beach shortly after 7:30pm on Sunday.

Emergency services arrived and found Hashim on the beach near Pier Road with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, but later died.

Devastated loved ones have remembered the teen as an outgoing young man hoping to find a job and figure out the next steps in his education after acquiring his license.

“Mom was very proud of him,” said her brother Hanad. Age.

“He had always wanted to be an entrepreneur. He had that kind of mentality.

Hanad said the family was all together at home on Sunday when they received a phone call from police about the fight.

He said losing his brother has been “very stressful” but that his family was lucky to receive a lot of support from the community.

Police are now on the hunt for the suspected attackers who were last seen running north near Jacka Boulevard.

The terrifying scenes unfolded on Sunday as bathers enjoyed the city’s hottest day of the year since January.

Police rescuers who rushed to the scene tried to save Hashim Mohamed’s life. he was rushed to the hospital but then he died.

A police helicopter was also deployed afterwards.

There were policemen everywhere. It was crazy,” a St Kilda regular told the Herald Sun.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and no charges have yet been filed.

“We believe the incident was the result of a fight between approximately five or six African men, and there are several knives involved in this incident,” said Acting Inspector for Homicide Squad detective Nigel L’Estrange.

Acting Inspector L’Estrange said there was no evidence to conclude whether the violence was gang-related, but that line of inquiry would be explored.

He said detectives had recovered the knife used in the stabbing and investigators were reviewing CCTV footage to try to identify the attackers.
