Dragons stars Zac Lomax and Junior Amone have been filmed brawling during a training session while the NRL club trained on the south coast of New South Wales.

Pictures taken by a St George Illawarra fan show teammates separating the pair after they clashed in an opposing session, in which the teams simulate a game, during the club’s three-day camp at Mollymook, about 200 km south of Sydney.

The fight took place when Lomax reacted to a hard punch from Amone and the pair soon patched things up, according to the daily telegraph.

St George are looking to bounce back from a poor 2022 season that saw them finish 10th on 12 wins and 12 losses.

Their off-season got off to a poor start in October, when just three players – Ben Hunt, Lomax and Michael Molo – headlined the club’s year-end presentation night in Sydney.

The absence of the rest of the team led to speculation that the player pool is not happy, with several Dragons stars rumored to have been spotted at the nearby Star City Casino that same night.

That month, Hunt, who was one of the team’s best in 2022, warned that manager Anthony Griffin’s future with the club will be at stake as soon as they take the field next year.

“If we start bad, it’s probably gone,” Hunt said.

‘That’s just for us, the players and the staff, to start the year off right.

Everyone is aware of it. It’s no secret. We have to do it.

Lomax was fined $1,000 for misconduct last year for a controversial post-try celebration against the Newcastle Knights, in which he jumped on the back of former teammate Tyson Frizell, who slammed him to the ground in retaliation.

Knights enforcer David Klemmer mocked Lomax after the siren and Channel Nine commentator Phil Gould was less than impressed, calling the act “ridiculous” and saying “you could injure someone’s knee or back.” someone or something.”
