St Albans, Melbourne: Man riding a scooter dies after colliding with a car in horror crash

A man riding an electric scooter has died after colliding with a car.

Emergency services were called to St Albans, in Melbourne’s far northwest, about 4.40pm on Thursday after reports of an accident.

The 45-year-old driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have been advised that a man was riding his scooter along Arthur Street when he appeared to collide with a vehicle,” police said in a statement on Saturday.

‘The rider, a 45-year-old man from St Albans, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

‘The man died in hospital from his injuries.’

The investigation is ongoing and a report must be prepared for the coroner.
