Squadron of Foreign Fighter Jets Shouts Over Melbourne Baffling Locals
A squadron of foreign fighter jets have put on a show in the skies over Melbourne, leaving many locals baffled.
Twitter lit up with residents asking ‘why are fighter jets flying over’ on Monday afternoon, as a ‘friendship flight’ was underway over the city involving the Republic of Air Force aerobatic team. Korea, The Black Eagles, and its Australian equivalent, the Roulettes.
The Korean squadron is currently visiting Australia for an air show, with nine T-50B jets taking to the local skies.
They performed a similar stunt over the skies over Sydney last week.
The Royal Korean Air Force team roared over Melbourne on Monday afternoon, baffling many locals who were unaware the stunt was taking place.
Several Melbourne residents were stunned by the roar of the jet engines. ‘The dog and I are still recovering, so fucking loud!’ said one Twitter user.
In a statement, the RAAF explained that the stunt was being prepared for the 2023 Australian International Airshow which will take place later this week.
The fighter jets followed a route that took them from Avalon, in the northwest of the city, along the Bass Coast and back to Port Phillip Heads.
The final leg of the demonstration was over the Melbourne CBD, before the allies returned to Avalon airport.
