There are many reasons why Spotify is one of the best music streaming services, and one of them is the service’s unique quizzes and interactive features. The latest feature film, Your K-Pop Persona, is aimed at fans of the increasingly popular genre, allowing you to discover what role you would play in a K-Pop band.
Available until May 10, Spotify’s K-Pop Persona Quiz is designed to celebrate both the genre and K-Pop fans. Like the other features like Playlist in a Bottle, Your K-Pop Persona can be found in the Spotify app and you’ll be asked five questions that will use your answers to generate your persona based on one of five band roles: a lead singer, a lead rapper, a lead dancer or a trainee.
Once you’re in, you’ll be faced with questions that will help you leverage your position as a K-Pop stan, from superficial prompts “What’s your favorite thing about K-Pop?”, to behavioral questions like “Someone respects your ultimate bias – how do you respond?”. The quiz slides also have a vibrant Y2K PC desktop aesthetic, matching the colorful sound of K-Pop.
Your K-Pop Persona is the latest feature Spotify has introduced to improve its interactive and social experiences. Two of the other recent additions, Song Psychic and the fun, self-reflective Daylist, boost Spotify’s shareability on social media. Your K-Pop Persona does this as well, while also capitalizing on the growing popularity of the genre, with Spotify sharing that K-Pop has seen a 360% increase in service globally since 2018.

If you’re unfamiliar with the lore and jargon of the K-Pop world, the term “persona” is used by fans to identify individual members and the role they play in the band. So what sets this interactive feature apart from others is its direct tribute to the specific music fandom.
Your K-Pop Persona is easy to find and navigate. You can find it via visiting the Spotify site, or by typing “Your K-Pop Persona” into Spotify’s search hub. From there your journey to discovering your role in the band begins.
Five questions will appear in succession and you can go back and forth to change your answers. Once you’re happy with your choices, lock your answers. Spotify calculates your personality and presents you with a photo card that you can post to your social media accounts – unless you feel too embarrassed to show the world that you are considered a Trainee, and not quite in Main Visual status yet. icon.
