Sportscaster Al Michaels reveals he wanted to call Taylor Swift Travis Kelce’s ‘FIANCEE’ during the Chiefs’ game but was worried the NFL star ‘would beat me up’

Al Michaels was tempted to call Taylor Swift Travis Kelce’s fiancée, he revealed this week.

Michaels was looking for Prime when the Chiefs defeated the Broncos 19-8 on Thursday Night Football.

And with the pair’s romance growing, Michaels wasn’t sure how to refer to the item during the game.

“Looking at (Kelce’s)… well, right now… his good friend and girlfriend, Taylor Swift,” Michaels said at one point during the game.

When Jimmy Kimmel asked about the moment, Michaels admitted he wanted to stir the pot even more.

Ultimately, though, Swift seemed to avoid Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles’ game

“So, is she his good buddy or his girlfriend?” Kimmel said. “Now you can’t be both.”

“If you know you’re doing a game like that, I know the internet is going to explode. You know what I actually wanted to say? ‘Fiance.’

However, he said, “I didn’t because I thought Travis was going to beat me up at the end of the match.”

Like other companies with NFL broadcast rights, Prime had to weigh how much Swift to show during the game.

And before Thursday night’s game, Michaels assured die-hard NFL fans that coverage of the pop star would be kept to a minimum.

“What we’re going to do tonight, everything in moderation,” Prime’s play-by-play man said Sports illustrated ahead of the game.

“Our crew talked about it this morning. You can’t make the show an afterthought. The vast majority of the audience watches a football match.

‘There are people, I don’t know how many, it could be quite a few, but it’s certainly not a majority, that if you pointed the camera at her all night, they would be satisfied with that. This is not what we do.

“Maybe there’s a fitting shot or a few. I don’t know what song it’s going to be. If Kelce scores six touchdowns, who knows what we’ll do?

‘But for the most part just in moderation. The game is still by far the most important element here. That’s our thought.

Kelce and Swift spent the weekend together after his Thursday night game, with the pair spending time in New York and being photographed holding hands.
