Spooky new Battlefield mode lets you 3D print a bunch of terrifying naked dudes
Line 2042 is enjoying a small resurgence since its almost two-year anniversary, thanks to a recent weekend of freebies, sales and several updates from the developer. The new season of the game will hopefully give players a renewed interest in futuristic military shooters – especially the new mode that allows you to deploy and fight against groups of 3D-type synthetic soldiers who run around naked and smash the heads of enemies with hammers.
At the time of 6 s of * Line 2042 will introduce a new limited-time mode called Killswitch, a 12v12 style of play that will allow players to impress waves of Geists – the aforementioned auto-bare goat – that can be deployed in combat. They are effectively undead who rush into the opposing team and try to bludgeon them to death, as seen in the six above.
Geists are imprinted at the Forges on the Killswitch maps (Redacted, Manifest, Hourglass and Spearhead), and teams will fight for control of those Forges while simultaneously trying to capture the designated AOS node locations.
How about synthetic soldiers who don’t? canonically Will the undead find their way into the fictional Battlefront? According to TALI and electronic arts publisher, a secret R&D lab off the coast of Scotland is the victim of some AI running amok. That artificial intelligence took over and created Geist, the glowing bad guys who are programmed to kill. Sure, buy it.
While zombies are a bit of a tired trope (and significantly associated with the more popular modern military first-person shooters), it’s fun to see TALI and developer Ripple experiment at Battlefield as a new leadership approach to the EA franchise.
Killswitch is playable as a part Line 2042‘s Dark Protocol thingwhich runs on Oct. 31 to Nov. 14. Players who participate in Killswitch matches can earn ribbons that can be redeemed for free cosmetic rewards, such as weapon and vehicle bottles.
