Splosh Australia’s mugs recalled after gifts bought for Father’s Day

Splosh Australia mugs are being recalled after gifts purchased for Father’s Day

  • Father’s Day gift recalled
  • Splosh Australia mugs called back

A sweet gift meant for Father’s Day has been recalled amid fears it could cause both ‘burns and cuts’ when used.

It has been discovered that Splosh Australia mugs, which are sold internationally and online, can crack and break when filled with hot liquids.

Breakage can lead to serious burns from the hot liquids and cuts from the sharp edges.

Both the black ‘Super Dad’ and blue ‘My favorite child gave me this mug’ have been recalled by Product Safety Australia (PSA).

“There is a risk of injury from burns and cuts from sharp edges if the mugs break during use,” PSA said in a statement.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the affected mugs.”

The mugs were sold at nearly 400 independent retailers nationwide, including some Terry White Chemmart and Nextra stores.

Both items were on sale between June 25 and September 8 this year.

PSA has urged consumers who purchased the mugs to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
