Splitgate 2 coming to PC and console for free in 2025
Developer 1047 Games has announced that Split gate 2the sequel to the 2021 first-person shooter Split gatewill be released for free in 2025 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The upcoming game is a 4v4 multiplayer shooter built on Unreal Engine 5 and features “fast-paced portal gunplay with objective-based game modes and striking futuristic maps.” It will also feature a faction system, customizable weapons, and, you guessed it, portals.
“In the summer of 2021, when we Split gate “On PS4, we didn’t know what to expect,” 1047 CEO Ian Proulx said in a new interview with PlayStation Blog“We certainly weren’t ready for the millions of people who went online and wanted to play our version of a first-person shooter.

“We had to start from scratch, in some ways,” Proulx explained. “That meant building from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, with completely new character models, new maps, new weapons, even new portal walls and portals.”

The developer said this starts with Split gate 2‘s faction-based multiplayer, and while the team wouldn’t share any details just yet, “there’s a lot of it shown off in our announcement trailer.”
