Splendour In The Grass 2024 slammed for only having ‘one good international act’ as critics brand the lineup as ‘boring’: ‘Australian festivals suck’

Splendor In The Grass’ 2024 artist line-up has sparked backlash over the lack of prominent international acts.

The three-day extravaganza, considered one of Australia’s biggest music festivals, announced its highly anticipated line-up on Tuesday, headlined by the likes of Kylie Minogue, G-Flip and Tones And I.

However, these Australian talents weren’t enough to impress many fans, as online critics have pointed out that there is only one major international artist on the voting list: Future.

‘Absolutely nonsense. It’s one of the few festivals in Australia big enough to offer a semi-exciting and decent line-up, and the biggest in terms of overseas headliners is Future,” one frustrated fan commented.

“Australian festivals suck. Why is Future the only good international act?’ another agreed, with someone else adding: ‘Australian music festivals are so boring omg.’

Many expressed disappointment over Lana Del Rey’s absence from the lineup, following rumors that she would be performing at this year’s Splendor.

‘Where the hell is Lana? This is a terrible lineup. What terrible news for Australian festivals,” one user complained.

Another said they felt “let down” because they saw “so many Lana rumors” and had “stirred themselves up.”

Many claimed they had barely heard of most of the artists on the list.

“Realize how out of touch you are when you’ve only heard of three artists,” one person wrote.

‘I’m a festival girl and I barely know any of these names. If I’m going to buy $200 tickets, make sure there’s at least ONE person I want to see,” someone else added.
