A Spirit Airlines flight attendant has gone viral after ranting about her employer’s penchant for charging customers for every little item.
Video posted to TikTok in mid-March shows the unnamed flight attendant during her pre-flight announcement informing customers boarding a plane from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles that if they want anything extra — like electrical outlets or a reclining seat — the airline that will make them pay for it.
It has now been viewed over 278,800 times, with over 25,600 likes and over 200 comments.
Many TikTokers who commented on the now famous video posted by @cali.style.trucking supported the flight attendant for her humor and honesty.
But some online labeled her behavior as “unprofessional.”

In the video, the flight attendant says that if Spirit Airlines offered additional items, such as blankets or electrical outlets — or even if the seats reclined — the airline would charge a fee.
“No, we don’t have outlets where you can charge your phones, because if we do we will charge you,” the flight attendant said. “No, we don’t have blankets for you, because if we do, this is Spirit and we’ll charge you.
“No, your seats can’t recline. If they do that again, this is Spirit and we’ll charge you,” she continued. “And no, we don’t have earplugs for you, because if we do, because if we do, you all know this is Spirit, and what are we going to do?”
“Charge up!” exclaimed an amused passenger.
“Come on, if we had them, we’d charge you and give you something else to complain about,” the flight attendant agreed.
She then said she “wish” she could provide passengers with everything they need, but cited company policy as to why she couldn’t.
The flight attendant ended her story by saying Spirit Airlines doesn’t accept cash, only cards or Apple or Google Pay.
“Somehow we want you to pay,” she said.

Many online also found the flight attendant’s comments amusing, some even saying “she needs a promotion.”
“This is why I love Spirit, their sense of humor,” one user wrote.
However, others suggested that the unnamed employee must be tired of her job.
“LMAO, she’s tired of Spirit too,” one user commented, while Alicia Douglass agreed, writing that she’s tired of “you all asking like ‘Let me get this out of the way.'”
“This is quitting quietly,” Erika Jade added, while Jacob Duke wrote that this is what happens “when the airline you hate is the only airline that will hire you.”
But some users found the flight attendant’s speech unprofessional.
‘So [ghetto] and unprofessional,” one user wrote. “Regardless of whether they’re cheap doesn’t mean their employees have to act so ghetto and cheap.”
Another suggested that the flight attendant was likely to be fired by the airline because of her speech.
